Hi All,
I have a group trying to find ANYTHING on this very important documentary..
Policewoman 1914 was a documentary about the first policewoman in the world
(supposedly). Alice Stebbins Wells who played herself in the film. She
started with the Los Angeles Police Department in 1910. And enough press was
given that Balboa made a documentary on her in 1914. It was distributed by
Biograph. We have photos and write ups about her.but NOTHING about the film.
except 2 small articles in trade journals and a line in the AFI catalog.
We've checked all the major places. like the Academy, Library of Congress,
and numerous universities without any luck.
Does ANYONE have ANYTHING. film, slides, posters, stills, heralds.
It's hard to believe that EVERYTHING on this has been lost.
please let me know.
