Howsabout,

US poster art vs. foreign poster art?

(There could be several hundred cases made for this poll, so you may want to
divide into genres or time periods).

Best poster art for the worst movie?

Worst  poster art for a fantastic movie?

(Casablanca, Godfather, Used Cars, Caddyshack are some of my examples ... this
could also be divided into genres and/or time periods).

I don't believe I have done either (after 116 polls it is hard to keep track!)
and I think both are great, and likely to be done soon (I think I would expand
the second one to be "best movie/worst poster", and make the first one a
specific gangster (E.G. Robinson as Rico, Brando as Vito Corleone, Pacino as
Michael Corleone, Cagney as Cody Jarrett and as Rocky Sullivan, etc). This
would have the effect of actors competing against themselves, but so what?

Thanks much Glenn. I thought for sure you would have also suggested "favorite
Wheeler and Woolsey movie", so you surprised me there!

Kepp 'em coming!

Bruce -

Have you done anything with the gangster genre?  Either best gangster movie, or
who played the best gangster?

Also I was wondering, have you've done a best and worst one sheet for best
picture winner as yet?  I've always thought it was a shame the GODFATHER movies
didn't have better art.

My two cents -

This week, Joe Bonelli gave me the excellent idea for my current poll, that of
movies that woiuld have been better with their Broadway stars.

I received some e-mails from club members telling me that was a bad idea,
because club members likely wouldn't have an opinion, but in less than 24 hours
I have received around 100 votes, somewhat better than average, which tells me
that those e-mailers were under-estimating the club members Broadway
experience, and that Joe's poll idea was great!

I wonder if some MoPo members might have a poll idea, and I will give a set of
23 books to anyone whose idea I use (I pay Media Mail shipping in the U.S., and
non-U.S. must pay the difference between Media Mail and actual cost).

Remember that the question must have multiple choice answers where the voter
picks only one choice. I have received some great poll ideas I can't use,
because coming up with the list of muliple choice answers is too hard!

Also, remember that the polls can be about either movie posters or movies
themselves.

P.S. I would like to set up a series of "face-offs" as a separate weekly vote,
where people vote for one of two choices (e.g. Karloff vs Lugosi, or Marilyn vs
Audrey Hepburn, etc). What do you think of that idea?
