well yes, except that he was far from typecast because of Psycho.
he continued making all the kinds of films he made previously and the
usual review.
also, your description of "typecast" is incorrect
tyepcasting is where you cannot get other roles because you are only
asked to play the one role you are known for
that was never Perkin's problem. It was George Reeves' problem. But
Perkins- never. His roles in the 10 years following Psycho are
nothing like his role in Psycho.
However his typecasting as a general weirdo is another story.
