Hi, all, from Joe B in NOLA

It's aggravating to quote a story that accurately tells of a controversial
Oscar-show incident 30 years ago, only to realize upon re-reading the story
that you missed a glaring error on the part of the (obviously young) writer.

You would think that a writer so intent on reporting the story correctly would
be sure of the name of the Real-Life Writer portrayed in the story.  Of course,
the writer of the book "Pentimento" (filmed as "Julia") was the author of such
theatrical gems as "The Little Foxes" and "Toys in the Attic," Lillian Hellman.
The writer (someone named Patrick Mondout) calls the author and
movie-character, "Linda Hellerman."
Good research/bad research!!!

Oh, well.  I just worked with a teacher of theatre movement (and a good one) in
a play-- and he confessed that until he recently played "Officer Krupke" in a
production of "West Side Story," that he had NEVER HEARD of the MUSICAL PLAY or
MOVIE!!!!!
