Hi -
I have a question for the Japanese collectors in the audience -
I have a Raizo Ichikawa (the Japanese James Dean) poster from Misumi's
Samurai classic - DESTINY'S SON (1962).
Poster is in 3 equal pieces (adding up to appx. 90 inches in height
and 40 inches width) so I will call it a 3S but would also like to
know what this size Japanese poster is correctly named.
Image is lifesize full-length portrait of Raizo in full Samurai garb
wielding sword.
Anybody know this piece and/or have a sense of value?
DESTINY’S SON (KIRU) 1962, Daiei, 71 min. Raizo Ichikawa stars as a
swordsman bent on revenge after his adoptive family are murdered by a
jealous bureaucrat. Director Kenji Misumi creates an astonishing,
dreamlike samurai film from Kaneto Shindo’s amazing script – a demonic
masterpiece awash with brilliant blues and reds, and fueled by the
most deranged organ score we’ve ever heard. With Masayo Banri.
Email me if you want to see a picture.
Arigato goziamas!
