Bruce,
Very good info from you and Phils (both Phil E and Phil W!) on the subject
of lobby cards over past few days.
You mention that the minty white lobbies are glossy on the back. It
occurred to me that the minty white inserts also have a glossy back. Do you
think
it could be exactly the same paper stock in both cases? If so, maybe
another pointer to a common source.

There are also of course the "minty white sets", which are printed on a
paper that appears to be a similar weight to some real lobbies, but they are
glossy on the back in a way real ones never are. And the "minty white sets",
which run from the 1960s to the present are almost all printed on exactly
the same odd sort of paper, as though they were printed within a short time
of each other, and not 40 years apart. Maybe Professor Powers can explain
this?
