It really depends what you are looking for. Yes, if you collect high-end, rare, and/or hard-to-find titles you will not find many bargains.
On the other hand, for some collectors it's a buyer's market. This would primarily be people either just entering the hobby or looking for lower-end and mid-market pieces. There's lots of stuff out there that has fallen in price and can be had for very little. On the OTHER hand (we're up to three hands now), it's a vicious circle. If sellers are not getting decent or even fair prices, then they will list less and then there's less to choose from on eBay. Witness the 1940s US posters category: often there are fewer than 50 items listed up for auction. Finally, if you're not finding the stuff on eBay, go directly to your nearest (figure of speech) dealer. Check out what's on their sites, make offers. You'd be surprised with the deals you might end up with. Or maybe you wouldn't.
