When the consignor sent the Frankenstein teaser one-sheet to New York in 1999 for my Christie's auction, it was sent flat, in the *BIGGEST, STRONGEST * package I have ever seen (it weighed over 100 pounds).
It was sent with an AM delivery. The consignor joked that if the plane carrying it crashed, the poster would probably come through just fine!
