My father was in the NJState Police for almost 30 years. He retired with the rank of Lt. Col. In that time he investigated every crime imaginable.
He said they would be investigate teenage boys hanging from their belt or whatever. Parents, of course, thinking they comitted suicide. Apparently this is, to a degree, a lot more common than people might think.
