In theory, I agree that a restoration documentation may be of value.
In real life ... horse hooey.
A restoration expert may have a level of expertise / talent that would be
difficult to match from an 'amateur' effort, but the expert is still only as
good as his/her last effort. If all restoration tasks were the same, it would
be a snap for anyone to be consistently on top of their respective game. In the
future, some 'established experts' may opt for easier tasks (for obvious
reasons), saving the onerous labors for others, lest their reputation (and
brand value) diminish.
In attaching / advancing value ... it would actually create an artificial
pricing tier, how long before someone fakes the documentation / stamp on a
similar restoration example?
There are other points, not enough time.
