Built in 1924 in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, the estate has been the site of many films such as 1982's "Blade Runner" and the 1959 horror movie "House on Haunted Hill." The 6,000-square-foot house is designated as a city, state and national landmark, but has been closed to visitors since 1997. Because of damage sustained in the 1994 earthquake and heavy rains, the foundation has spent about $6.5 million for the first phase of restoration.
