I was thinking how she was young to go... what 62? 61?
Her famous poster was made in OHIO by Proarts Of Medina Ohio..
I met the publisher at a trade show at Javitts in NYC... I exhibited at
the national staionary show
and so did Ted Trikelis of Pro Arts poster.. From what I remeber the
Farrah poster was the worlds all time best
selling poster selling millions upon millions and rejuvenated collecting
of Posters from the commercial sector.
I also met Bernie Swatz that had founded Personality posters in the
1960s/// he did the faous Frank Zappa on Toilet, the Raquel Welsh fom
BC , all the stooges and repos of Black and whites..
When I think back.... I was lucky to meet these guys as they were the
Kings of Posters...
when I would order from Personality in NYC they wouldnt allow just
anyone to order.....it was funny
people would tell me they wouldnt let them buy........
There has been some great commercial poster companys from Europe and all
over.. The germans do a great job and use good paper stocks.. same with
Japan printing and hong kong and Italy
arti Ricordi did some cool art,,
My friend worked for a day with Gary Bernstein in Hollywood he sot Lee
Majors, Johnny Carson in the
heydey when they were all Big like 70s... My friend asisited at Carsons
malibu Home and said they did the shoot for carsons suits... they had to
pin them on him// I guess he had a Koi pond in his house.
