Thanks for posting this, Phil. The story of him backing out of the auction certainly rings true from what I've read of his behaviour vis a vis contracts and commitments the last few years. He left a wide trail behind him of broken agreements and lawsuits for everything from concert dates to movie deals to amusement parks.
So when I heard he was planning a big comeback I was very skeptical, given what transpired in the past. I thought for sure he would find a way to back out of the proposed London concerts and the worldwide tour would never happen. Sadly, I was right, but his way of getting out of it this time was tragic and permanent...
