*About the Originality and Rarity of The 700 Inserts closing in 13 hours*
* *Inserts from the 1960s on are far more rare than the corresponding
one-sheets (with the exception of certain inserts which have been
reproduced; see below). In the last few years, many savvy collectors have
begun to seek out inserts, realizing their far greater rarity, and in some
cases, are paying more for them than for the corresponding one-sheets! We
expect this trend to continue in the coming years! *NOTE:* In recent years a
huge number of inserts of certain top titles of the 1970s have been offered
in the collector's market (there are also a couple of "suspect"
half-sheets). We believe (as do most major dealers) that these are surely
counterfeits. They can be distinguished from genuine inserts by their extra
glossy front and back, and their "whiter-than-white" appearance. *ALL OF
THE INSERTS WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK ARE 100% GENUINE AND EITHER
THEATER-USED* *OR WERE PRINTED TO BE USED IN THEATERS, BUT WERE FOUND IN
POSTER EXCHANGES PRIOR TO GOING TO A THEATER*!
I could imagine that some people, seeing the many wonderful condition
inserts we are selling this week, might wonder if possibly *THEY* could be
reproductions! They are not, and they include lots and lots of titles that
nobody would ever consider reproducing, which should make sense to anyone,
even if they doubted my guarantee that they are authentic! On the other
hand, the inserts and inserts that all major dealers know are counterfeit
are exclusively very collectible titles, exactly the sort a crook would
choose to reproduce. All of the inserts we are selling this week are
absolutely guaranteed to be authentic!
*Should Unfolded Inserts Sell for a Major Premium over Folded Ones?**
*For years I have been arguing that the above should be true, and it
seems that many collectors are beginning to agree with me! Imagine if
baseball cards could be bought in two ways. You could either get them folded
in half twice (resulting in three horizontal folds), or get them unfolded.
Would not the unfolded ones sell for *FAR* more in the collector's market
than the folded ones? I can't see the difference between this and inserts.
It is *VERY* difficult to find unfolded inserts, but they *ARE* out there,
and I believe we will continue to see their price rise far above that of a
folded version (note that most post-1970 inserts were *NOT* folded, so they
are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to
inserts from this time period). *NOTE THAT THE INSERTS THAT WE ARE
CURRENTLY OFFERING INCLUDE A HUGE NUMBER OF UNFOLDED ONES!* Around *32%* of
the *700* inserts have never been folded, and *nearly half *of those
*32%*are from before 1970, which are the titles you would not expect
to find
unfolded! This is a very rare opportunity to purchase unfolded inserts!
*Have you discovered the joy of collecting inserts?*
If you would like to add some inserts to your collection (either great
titles or lesser ones), then tonight's set of auctions (700 inserts) is for
*YOU!* I just took a sneak peek at the gallery of these posters at *
http://www.emovieposter.com/**agallery/mode/0/13.htm*l<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/mode/0/13.html>and
looked at those 700 items I have closing tonight, Tuesday night
(including *LOTS* of "better" titles, but only a few that you need to be
wealthy to consider bidding on!), and *I SAW LOTS OF REALLY EXCELLENT VALUES
ON QUALITY ITEMS, AND SOME BEING PRACTICALLY GIVEN AWAY! I HAD TO PINCH
MYSELF TO BE CERTAIN I WASN'T DREAMING!*
**
With just 13 hours to go, there are a whopping 124 of them at still at $3
each or under (and what does *ONE, TWO OR THREE DOLLARS* buy you anywhere
these days?), 229 are at just $5 each or under, 327 are at just $9 each or
under, and 413 are at $13 each or under and those numbers include lots and
lots of *REALLY* nice inserts that you would expect to see at $20, $30 or
much more on many dealers' websites (this really *IS* our biggest and best
selection ever!).
And almost *ALL* of the remaining 287 that are $14 each or over are at
really reasonable prices with just 13 hours to go, and they include some *
REALLY* good titles, including *ASTOUNDING SHE MONSTER*, *GOLDFINGER*, *OCEAN'S
11*, *BULLITT*, *THUNDERBALL*,* ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT, *and on and on! If
you have been in this hobby for any length of time, you *KNOW* these sorts
of titles *VERY* rarely sell for any kind of bargain, but that may well
happen tonight!
Now I flat-out *REFUSE* to believe they can end at the current prices (I
think it is only the weak economy causing temporary weakness in some
prices, and that once the world stabilizes, people will look back at some
current prices, and say, "I absolutely shoulda bought much more"), and I am
sure many of these non-U.S. posters will get more bids, but if you have been
thinking "Where are there good deals in this hobby?", you need look no
further than these auctions!
Go to *http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/mode/0/13.html* to check them
out for yourself. *REMEMBER!* If you are a member of my weekly e-mail club
(see below), you only have to buy 15 of these inserts to get a set of all 22
of my in-print books as a free bonus! (If you somehow aren't one of the
5,400+ members, go to* http://www.emovieposter.com/mail/clubsignup.php* and
join right now!). *GIVEN THAT SO MANY OF THESE ARE AT $5 OR LESS, YOU ARE
VIRTUALLY ASSURED TO BE ABLE TO GET 15 OF THEM OF YOUR CHOICE PLUS THE 22
$20 BOOKS FOR AROUND $50 TO $75, AND HOW SILLY IS THAT?*
And remember that the very best thing about these auctions is that there are
no reserves or buyers premiums (so they will all really sell at these low
low prices) and *THAT YOU ONLY PAY A SINGLE $9 U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE NO
MATTER HOW MANY OF THESE YOU BUY, SO YOU MAY WELL BUY 20 OR 30 OF THEM FOR
JUST A FEW DOLLARS EACH* (either solely those, or in addition to more
expensive posters) *AND YOU ONLY PAY A TOTAL OF $9 U.S. SHIPPING FOR ALL OF
THEM!*
*COMPARE THAT TO THOSE "OTHER GUYS" WHO PRETEND TO HAVE $1 NO RESERVE
AUCTIONS, BUT WHO CHARGE YOU A WHOPPING $14 BUYERS PREMIUM PER ITEM!
*
And I don't want to read even one of those "If I had any idea item X could
sell so low, so I didn't bid" kinds of posts come Wednesday morning!
*We have a great weekly e-mail club!*
Our club has 5,408 members, and many weeks we make great bonus offers to
club members who buy multiple items from us at auction! So if there is
*ANY*chance at all that you might end up buying a number of items from
us at
auction in future weeks, then you have a *LOT* of incentive to join the club
(if you are not already a member) because we will keep on giving away
excellent prizes to those members of the club who buy multiple items. We run
fun weekly polls, which a couple of hundred participate in each week, with
great prizes for randomly selected members, plus we give news about the
hobby in general and our auctions in particular!
Why not join the club today (if you are not already a member)? You'll at
most receive ONE e-mail a week (note that we do *NOT* send update e-mails
like this one to members of our weekly e-mail club, because the information
is duplicated there, so if you join our club, you will cease to get these
"update" e-mails), and your e-mail address is *NEVER* given out to anyone,
and you have a great chance to win great prizes, and you can quit anytime!
Just go to http://www.emovieposter.com/mail/clubsignup.php and fill out the
super simple form, and you will be a member, and qualify for the great club
bonuses!
Remember that, in *ALL THREE* of our weekly auctions (unlike some other
sellers of vintage movie paper), every single one of our items truly start
at $1 with *NO RESERVE*! And we are not talking about the super-inflated
shipping and crazy "buyers premiums" you see in other major auctions! In *
OUR* auctions, this week you can purchase *FIFTEEN* $1 items and your total
cost is just $15, plus $9 U.S. shipping for any of the items in our current
Tuesday auctions or our current Thursday auctions (note that you *CAN *combine
the items from the two auctions and *STILL* only pay a single $9 U.S.
shipping charge; we will *ALWAYS* combine your purchases from a single week
when doing so will not risk damage to your purchases)!
YOU can't get the great deals that happen week after week in our
auctions if you aren't bidding! *AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE!* If you place
a bunch of fairly low bids but only get one or two items, then you are sure
to be happy, for you will have gotten some really good deals. Even if you
place a bunch of bids and get nothing at all, you will only be out a little
of your time, and no more. We feel certain that if you purchase even one of
them, and then once you see how honestly we describe them and how we charge
only the actual shipping cost and how we send them right out promptly and
well-packed, that you will declare your independence from those auction
houses with the outrageous buyers premiums, the over-graded items, the
misleading images that obscure defects, the "mysterious maxed bids", and the
outrageous shipping!
