Yeah, Joe, I agree, Terence is underrated and so great. And his eyes are
unmistakable, you can pick them out no matter how old he is. He is a very
comfortable actor and his presence just adds so much more to any picture he's
in. As far as you and your wine-glass-and-tin-foil-improvised "bong," well,
yeah, I believe it. You have had a greatly charmed life for which others will
never catch up. Your story is also worth filling a book, all of your
adventures around the country in NY, NOLA and elsewhere. And of course, you
escaped and survived Katrina, the monster of all hurricanes that people will
still be talking about centuries from now. -d.

Terence Stamp's wonderful performance as an aging transvestite in "Priscilla,
Queen of the Desert" is one of the most touching depictions of a gay man
comfortable with himself but weary of the glittery world and ready for
something simple. How wonderful that his character got what he didn't even
realize he was looking for. A brilliant performance for which, I believe, he
was nominated.

I've always admired Stamp as an actor..... and I like him too because when I
was at a party at his house during the filming of "Soldier Blue" in 1967, he
taught me to make a bong out of a rounded wine glass (half-filled with cheap
chablis) and tin-foil. It worked, too -- both then and.....well.... nevermind.

PS-- And he's a hoot in Fellini's brilliantly-hooty "Toby Dammit, or Never Bet
the Devil Your Head"-- that needs to come out on DVD in Fellini's original
polyglot-languaged version!!

Terence Stamp is still amazing, and was one of the best things in the
surprisingly effective "Valkyrie" picture directed by Bryan Singer, which had
disaster written all over it mostly because of Tom Cruise playing w/an American
accent against British heavyweights like Stamp, the always excellent Tom
Wilkinson and Bill Nighy. You know who Stamp reminds me of? Especially
w/regard to their once handsome looks when they were leading men -- yet who are
still working today? Albert Finney. When you see Stamp and Finney in the
1960s and see them still in pictures today, it's gratifying. And Ridley -- yes
I agree, he does indeed have another masterpiece or two still left in him. But
he's older than I thought he was so of course, I hope it happens again soon.
He's very prolific, though, so I'm not too worried. -d.

I agree David. Wyler also did a great job with the creepy THE COLLECTOR.
Terrence Stamp was scary in it.

Ridley Scott still has another masterpiece in him and I can't wait to see it.
