Those "translucent paints" have been around at least 15 years and originated
with Joe Hernandez. He called it "punching up the colors", but I called it
deceptive, and I would like to see those posters that were done 15 years ago
and see how they've aged.

And of course most of the posters Joe "punched up" (including many
for several then-prominent dealers and auction houses) rarely had that
restoration disclosed (and even if it had been on the first sale, it surely
would have been concealed on a later sale or auction.
