Hello, J.R.,

Of course the recent events of Universal Horror forgeries are completely
different than anything we've ever seen. I think they should obviously
cause great concern among the 10% of the movie poster collectors in the hobby
who have the financial means to purchase such pricey pieces. The other 90%
are generally spending between $20 and maybe $500 per poster or lobby
card. I was not directing my post to that top 10% of collectors. Regardless,
I
don't think being immobilized by fear is the answer to the problem,
whether you're talking about a Portal repro, a rolled Cool Hand Luke one sheet
that shouldn't be rolled or a forged
Black Cat one sheet. I just think if a collector is in any way serious
about his or her hobby, there are ways to educate themselves to avoid many
possible pitfalls----of course, this latest Universal Horror situation fooled
even the experts. But I'm speaking more to the average collector, not the
10% who have the bucks to spend a year's mortgage payments on a poster.
I'm sorry I didn't make that clear in my post.
                                                               Rick
