You may well be right but I wonder if all of the recent negative publicity will
dampen the high end market.

John

Since one of the posters made the top ten but a few months ago, and a second
less than a year ago I would say it's a safe bet.
LAMP is doing the best they can by reporting only auction sales (with the
exception of the Metropolis poster) and not reporting private sales where there
is even more of a temptation to fudge selling prices, or at least half the top
ten would be out of the top ten.
A second Black Cat one-sheet (not the recent fake sale one) sold soon after
the heritage auction for a price that would put it in the top ten and I know of
at least three other private sales in the past year that would qualify.

Leaving N.P.Gresham (possibly related to Alan Smithee?) aside, I was just
having a look at the top 10 sales.

If any of those posters came up at any major auction in the next twelve
months, I wonder if any of them would go even close to achieving the reported
prices.

I was looking over this list:

http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/newsite/index/articles/RecordSales.asp

      I was wondering...

Are there any fakes on the list, and if so, will they be removed?
Are there any items purchased by N.P. Gresham, and if so, will they be
removed?

      Bruce

P.S. I also wonder if those two worlds ever coincided (did N.P. Gresham
ever purchase a Universal fake, and if so, was he refunded?)
