Claude --- I've never gone to the Chiller show because the one genre I
don't collect or sell is horror and I always thought that this show was
geared to collectors of that material. Am I wrong? Is there any point in
my going to this one? FRANC

Subject: Re: [MOPO] NY Show at Holiday Inn

I went to the show and would not go again. The show was very small in
size and the aisles were much too small. The few dealers had prices
that didn't deserve a counter offer. A waste of time.

The restorer Chris Cloutier was there and we talked about his troubles
with MoPo a while ago. Superman and Supergirl were ridiculous. There
was another character in a ninja outfit that boggled the mind. I can't
even tell you how ridiculous he looked.

I look forward to the Chiller theatre show on October 30 in Parsippany,
NJ. That is always a great show.

Morris--Bring back your show to Penn Plaza.

We just returned from the NY collector's show at the Holiday Inn. Morris
was of course there with his collection of stills and some lobby cards.
Chris Coulter had a table with some of his linen-backed posters and a
few other dealers were there trying to sell at very high prices that
even they didn;t believe in. Farley Granger (as I had predicted) had
canceled out but of course his name is still listed in the
advertisements for this show and in the Daily News puff piece that was
printed a few days ago. Celeste Holm did sign one of my All About Eve
lobby cards and that was great. I had worked with her on several TV
projects in the 1980s and she was always a nice lady. Otherwise this
show was pretty depressing, especially the Superman and Superwoman
Hollywood look-alikes.
