There has been some discussion about the Dracula poster in the current Profiles
auction. A short time ago, I did a poster with the same title. I had no idea
if this is the same poster or not. I contacted the office at Poster Mountain,
and spoke with Gabe there, as John is on vacation, asked him to have John call
me. I indicated that I was calling about the poster. The following is my
communication with John.

Email from John:

I got your message from Gabe about the Dracula...Wanted to let you know that
both of those are irrefutable authentic, I'd stake my ife on it.
Thanks for the phone call though

My email back to him:

Hi John - First of all, I did not call your shop to challenge your authority as
an expert. I simply asked if your shop had done the linenbacking on the Dracula
piece, in order to determine if the piece in question might have been the one I
did a few months ago. I never asked about any other piece so "both" pieces, I
do not know what you are referring to.
My main concern, and still is, the fact that I questioned the piece I had in
here, at the time, due to several items. The piece did not have the "feel",: of
normal poster paper, and it also had some type of remnant backing on the back,
sort of like a layer of cardboard. Also, both bottom corners had been
meticulously ripped out, only in the section where the text would have been in
the borders causing me to think it might be a re-issue or something. I
questioned my client on this at the time. He offered little insight to all of
this, and stated, its just going to be framed. I did the restoration, and when
it came time for the text issue, he dictated what he wanted us to write in that
area, which we did, knowing that it probably was not correct.
When the news broke about the Universal fakes, I immediately thought about that
poster, especially since my client was new, I knew nothing about him and he
lived in New Jersey.
I was surprised to see the exact same title in Profiles Auction. As stated
above, I was alarmed when I had a Dracula poster in my shop, for the above
reasons, and since hearing about the terrible fake scam.
My call to you was to simply find out if it might be the same poster, and if it
was, to offer any information I had.
Again, I was not questioning your Expert authority, just trying to be helpful.
I thought it best that we all try to work together to help minimize this awful
mess that has hurt us all.
I get the feeling from your email, you do not agree. In the future I will
refrain from calling you.
Thanks, enjoy your vacation.

His email back to me:

Hi Dianne,
No worries, that's not how I took it at all. We can't be too careful these
days, and the better we communicate these things, the better for all. Sorry if
my email came across as curt, it wasn't intended that way.
Best,
John

I am not disputing the COA, or know if it is the same poster, or if any of this
is important, I will let you all decide that. I did try to find out some more
about the client that sent the piece to me, and found out some alarming
information. I think it is best to have any and all information these days,
which is why I am posting this, especially in light of the fakes scam.
