Hi Michael,

I've had some success with posting my MOPO want lists. As you said, that does not mean that I am desperate or willing to pay any price for the items I want. There have been times where I've posted the name of an item that I want and turned down everyone who got back to me because the prices are more than I'm willing to pay. But on the other hand, I have picked up some great stuff that I may have otherwise not known about at prices that I felt were reasonable. I really think it's luck of the draw. I just never pay more than I think something is worth.

Best always,

Bill

Although dealers post the size and titles they are seeking for customers, so do collectors like me. i am rarely successful.

The dealers who respond to Want Lists more often than not, offer items at inflated prices.

The WANT LANT i posted last week was another wasteful endeavor. My WANT LIST posting is printed below.

One item i sought was HITLER'S CHILDREN. The half sheet was offered to me at 200. Bruce at emovieposter sold an insert (i remember seeing it with some damage) last year for 33.00 !!!

Another----someone offered me a one sheet of a diff title almost 3 times what Heritage sold it for last year.

Another----offered me 2 reissues of 2 diff titles at MORE than the orig would have cost---and the re-issues of these titles always sell for a small fraction of the orig.

YES----BUT, INFREQUENTLY, DO I MAKE "BUYING CONNECTIONS" ON MOPO.

Just because people post their WANTS, doesn't mean they are desperate or stupid.

I recently had a great off-ebay transaction with Channing. So.....you can use MOPO for acquisitions---but be careful. I got LOST WEEKEND OS many years ago from a truly great collector. It had some damage, and this super-honorable person refused to sell it to me until he took explicit close-ups of the damaged areas. Recently, i traded some Hershenson Books.....

michael ((((see below-------------

I am seeking the following in the first section, and have for sale or trade the items in the second section. I collect noir, Hitchcock, 40s---so if you want something….tell me what you have. In the past 3 months, most of the posters I have purchased have NOT been on my WANT LIST, so let me know what quality pieces you have. ((((I ONLY COLLECT AMERICAN ORIGINALS))) Most of the posters at the bottom will be consigned, shortly…….
