after hearing of all these recent posts I learned that many people have
suffered some great losses that make my stuff seem like chicken feed....
So I thought what can be done to help each other? It seems to me...
that the basics are what are important.
hearing Richs story and other who have lost vast sums. and also
preserving your reputation like the auction house's..
You end up seeing that we are all so close connected in such a fragile
way.. from Collector, dealer, restoration,
sellers, and auction house.
perhaps a panel of dealer, collectors could be a stop gap for the
Future dealings ? If the said clearing House also was insured against
situations like these recent events it could bolster the confidence of
Buyers to
obtain the items from a source that would offer Money back garentee as
far as authentication.
Myabe someone already offers that stipulation.
As far as business protocal and how to dea with issues that have arisen
Ive seen also that everyone gets
sensitive when they are accused of questionable business tactics and
also being accused of selling Forgerys.
Im still digesting all this as I don't see any perfect answer other
then telling the truth as a remedy.
The problem with that is if you are # 3 in the chain of the dealers and
the others didnt tell the truth...
who is responcible..? As Rich said he took the lead and returned the
money and items...
That could get tricky if you already spent all the money obtained... So
it would seem prudent to have
Liability insureance in place for situations like that. ( In the
future) You can buy a rider on business policys for cases like
this and also buy the customer a rider .. We had to get a 3 million
liabilty nameing Columbia Pictures when we made a Clock we lisenced for
Ghostbusters 2. I think the ride was like 300-600 which isnt bad.
In any case, I wish all you peace and hope you can all calmly have this
work out so its win/win for all.
I deeply sympathize and hear your frustrations in your emails. Ive felt
loss and feel yours hurt also.
I ask for peace and happiness and calm to all of you ...the acccused and
the victims and the dealers and auction house and collectors.
I hope the hurt ones will forgive and the ones that mislead or
misrepresented will make restitution and help repair the damage.
