Hi Gang,

I just came across this item that was sent to me. There is to be a 40th
Anniversary tribute to "The Wild Bunch". Here is the info I received:

Outlaws on the Mexican-U.S. frontier face the march of progress, the Mexican
army and a gang of bounty hunters led by a former member while they plan a
robbery of a U.S. army train. No one is innocent in this gritty tale of of
desperation against changing times. Pump shotguns, machine guns and automobiles
mix with horses and winchesters as we witness the end of an era, and the
sundown of western’s golden age in an operatic grand finale.

The Jules Verne Festival proudly announces the once in a life-time event: The
Wild Bunch is Loose Again, with live on stage iconic Academy Award Winner
Ernest Borgnine who starred in 1969 in Sam Peckinpah’s incredible movie along
with William Holden, Robert Ryan, Bo Hopkins and L.Q. Jones.

The most haunting and powerful western of all time, which uses intricate,
multi-angle editing, normal and slow motion images, revolutionized cinema arts
and technique. It returns to the big screen for its 40th anniversary, with a
spectacular 35mm director's cut pristine print presentation on the stage of the
amazing Million Dollar Theatre.

Sam Peckinpah’s family, movie historians, and real cowboys are to join this
special Jules Verne Legendaire Award screening. For Jean-Christophe Jeauffre
and Frédéric Dieudonné, creators of the Jules Verne Festival, “It will be, for
sure, the last great ride of the movie, with main cast attending. We wish to
offer Peckinpah’s masterpiece a worthy celebration and give over 2,000 people
the opportunity to fall in love at first sight with this movie—or even fall in
love again.”

Legendary star Ernest Borgnine (92) (Poseidon Adventure, Marty, From Here to
Eternity…) is now one of the few golden age Hollywood stars, along with Kirk
Douglas and Tony Curtis. He just received an Emmy Award nomination for his
guest appearance in ER. He never stops working after starring in over 100
movies, one of which won him an Academy Award for best actor (Marty, 1955).

*****Thought it might be of interest to some.
