What do you think it means when an item "sells" for $7,100 in one auction
and then the exact same item sells to you for $2,600 at the same auction
company the following year? Did the buyer of the item re-sell it immediately
at a massive loss? Why would anyone do that? Did he never pay for it, so it
reverted to the auction house? Was there an original consignor who got paid
for the $7,100 "sale", or did that "sale" get cancelled?

Whatever the answers, I guess that person's massive loss is your great gain,
so congratulations!
