Michael,
I've purchased one sheets mounted to foam core, cardboard + even wood.
Usually, the cost of removing it is about $200. If it were my poster, I'd
pay the price to have it removed and put on linen---otherwise, it might be a
good idea to let the prospective buyer know this is a possibility. Years
ago, if a poster was dry-mounted it was thought to literally drain all of
the value out of the piece. From my perspective, it's well worth the $200
you might pay to have it taken off the cardboard---otherwise it will
probably be difficult to get the $799 you're asking for the poster. Hey, even
the most die-hard collector of Davis material is most likely looking for an
investment in buying the poster as well. If he (or she) doesn't know it can
be removed from the cardboard---or if it ISN'T removed from the
cardboard---I see it as a pretty tough-sell at $799. Isn't that in the
ballpark of
what a Now Voyager US one sheet goes for anyway? Maybe I'm out of the "Now
Voyager loop", but I thought so...
Rick
