I've heard the exception to this rule may be pre-teens, Tatum O'Neal and or Anna Paquin. When they won they were underage and legally could not sign any agreements. Since an adult did not sign they can sell their Oscars. It may just be O'Neal. I believe even that rule has changed or else she slipped through the cracks that year.
