Hi Wolfgang,

I'm going to be tackling a mixture of old and new, there isn't much info on
some older titles.

Yes there already is another site, but that doesn't mean there can't be
another. afterall there are other forums etc. more the merrier isn't that the
spirit? No offense to the existing authentication site but I'm aiming a
slightly different approach. Ari, thanks for the feedback but you really are
the last person I'd be involved with in this venture, but I'm sure you already
know this and feel the same. This is the first time I've seen you post on mopo
since you last made a fool of yourself with absolute dribble.

Andy
p.s -Thanks Tom Martin for the chat and giving me a little inspiration earlier
today, it was very inspiring and uplifting, owe you a drink my friend.

Hi Ari and Andy,

Thanks for the link, I stopped by on the site some time ago. Hope
there will be more contributions, and I think will take the time to do the work
on some soon (e.g. German: Apocalypse Now black, Bullitt German, some US etc.)

And such stuff as the Belgian ‘Printed in Belgium’
should be noted even if they were for public sale, and there are also reprints
with ‘Imprimee en..’ for some titles.

And some Polish that always cause irritation like Ashes &
Diamonds, Sunset Boulevard what I have in mind.

There are also some Italian locandinas (Roman Holiday eg.)

In most cases: If you have a hand for vintage posters you can
spot the difference in paper and printing...

Andy, there already is a site,

http://movieposterauthenticating.com

many members of here, NS4, and your own MPF have submitted
articles.

If your keen then do some research on some poster and send it in.

I did one myself about THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL
daybills.

http://movieposterauthenticating.com/wordpress/day-the-earth-stood-still/day-the-earth-stood-still-australian-daybills/

Also you HAVE an Authenticating section on your forum
already, which I assume is free (not sure anymore as you kindly removed my
account)

The potential revenue, well I suspect thats the focus. Give
it a go for sure, trouble you will have is, why pay when there is a free site?

And what you are really wanting is someone who knows about
posters (maybe someone who can authenticate MEAN STREETS?), "Research and
experience is key" -
and MAYBE they make a dollar.

Sorry, maybe
someone will be keen but to me I'd rather buy the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ari

Subject: [MOPO] Movie Poster Authentication (Unusual request)

Hi all,

This is somewhat of an unusual request...

I'm looking for a partner to team up with me to setup an Authentication Website
to be stand alone or part of The Movie Poster Forum, or both. The partnership
will consist of designing, creating, researching and populating an
authentication platform like no other on the web. I can take care of the
creative, technical and hosting side of things.

My question is, are there any mopo members who are experts in this field that
would be interested in teaming up with me to make a superb professional,
informative and educational vintage and modern movie poster authentication
website? Research and experience is key.

There is potentially revenue to be made but the main focus is to educate movie
poster collectors worldwide. I have a few other ideas to throw into the
partnership so this could be an exciting venture.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Thanks for listening.

Kind Regards

Andy Neal
