Thanks, Channing, Freeman, Kirby and all who have sent good wishes on the Saints' win-- which is really more than a football game. It's truly a representation of rebirth. The positive feelings that have been generated by all the good will of people from all over the US and the world since Katrina four and a half years ago are what is bringing the city of New Orleans back. The Saints have become the symbol. Commentators have been remarking tonight that "Mardi Gras starts early" this year. Well, I have news! Mardi Gras started on 12th Night-- right after New Year's. That's the way it works. It's just that, now, Mardi Gras partying (the parades started this past weekend) will continue for the most part through Ash Wednesday....and hopefully the wonderful good feelings between ALL New Orleanians, their neighbors and friends from all over the world, will inspire us go on with the rebuilding and reinforcing that we are all in the same boat-- or pirogue, if you will. Thanks to you all for your wonderful support. Joe B in NOLA (Yeah, yew rite!-- Who Dat, indeed!) Now if they can only get that damned traffic light on Elysian Fields fixed once and for all.......
