Bruce -

Many thanks for your kind words...

As a "sinister" myself I appreciate the "right-handed" compliment.

All I ever wanted to do was be an actor. The writing came as an off-shoot from
having to sit around waiting for a job with all these voices and characters in
my head and no where to go with them.

I've done some pretty cool off-beat things. (Can be seen as an extra in
Goodfellas...) Acted opposite several Academy Award winners. (Most recently
Russell Crowe... Was extremely nice to me.) Got to meet some of my heroes.
(Robert Preston, Bob Hope, John Astin, Katherine Hepburn, Anthony Hopkins). Got
to do 65 episodes of a TV series and sold a script. Not often, but every once
in a while, I actually get to see some of the money I make.

Been luckier than some I guess but most of all I've enjoyed sharing these
moments with my friends and family. That's been the best part of it all. My
whole life I've been surrounded and supported by truly wonderful people such as
yourself and other special MOPO members.

I have noticed that quite a few successful people don't begrudge other people
their success, and that quite a few people who have never had much success show
sour grapes over other people's successes.

Personally, I love movies, and I would give my right arm (not my left,
because I am left-handed) to have acted in a movie or TV show or to have
written a produced screenplay, and you have done them both!

I couldn't be happier for you, and here's hoping this leads to even bigger
and better things.

I'm writing this publicly because you issued your apology so. I just want
to say that I was not offended in any way by your comments. I didn't think of
them as vindictive or petty. Just your opinion. If you had loved it would I
have turned around and asked what you base your opinion on? No. I'd have been
happy that you liked it without giving it a second thought.

I've been an actor way too long (a writer only because I sold a script) to
be put out by someone's opinion. (Except maybe my folks!) I regularly criticize
every aspect of film, television and theatre. Every one knows what they like
and what don't.

I once told Ron Borst that my favorite Universal horror poster was the
INVISIBLE MAN advance. He made a great deal of fun of me over that. Of all the
posters I could choose from that was the one I liked best. His comments didn't
sway my opinion. It's still my favorite and when I get me some Ezsterhas money
I'd buy that one before any others.

I greatly appreciate all the people here on MOPO. We're all here because we
love movies and the art work promoting them. There are those on this list who
may hate the movie. I hope not but you can't please everyone. If they don't
that's OK. You can't take it personally or you'll lose perspective.

I'm proud of the film, the poster, all of it because... Selling a script,
actually getting it made with quality people, having it on the screen and
seeing any kind of one sheet with my name as the writer is far, far, far more
than I ever expected or even hoped for when I first typed Fade In:

    Fade out:

      Hello Glen,

Please believe me when I say that I had no idea your wrote the script for
the movie “stolen”, as I haven’t read some of the recent threads, this one
included. The fact I didn’t know you had anything to do with this movie, makes
my comment on the artistic merits of the poster that much more sincere and
unbiased. Having said that, had I known that you wrote the script, I certainly
would not have made that comment, in that given circumstance, because I
understand what I great personal achievement it is to sell a script, and see it
made into a movie with a general distribution, complete with a battery of
advertising posters to boot. To nitpick with you, at the moment of celebration
for such an achievement, over something…that is not germane to the subject,
would indeed be very vindictive and petty. But as I’ve said before, I had no
idea.

Now that I know…, Good show Glen, I’m happy for ya!

      Best, Zeev

No, it's not another job for MOPO police... It's the new poster for
STOLEN. Check it out.

It's different than the festival poster. I liked that one as well but
this does the better job of promoting the stars at a glance.
