Folks Im so fired up about preserving jaszz as its like apple pie and I
was thinking how many movie soundtracks have jazz...
its overwhemling.. from the 20s on just count em........ the
musicals....al Jolson , fats waller , les paul and mary
Bing Crosby, Sinatra, Cugat, Sammy Davis, Cab Calloway........ all
the big bands the swings stuff
all the new orleans stuff,,,,,,,, and art tatum , Nat King
Cole.........Charlie Parker, SarahVaughn Billie Holiday
its gos on and on.. Doris day, Bob Eberle..
We need to save these landmark places that Formed the history before
they end up as Parking Lots..
there would be ano New Orleans with out the Jazz and heritage of the
people!!
There will be no Chicago, Detroit or new york if you take the
personality out of it and its just big box stores
and malls....
these places have the history that is the backbone of what memories are
all about.........
we understand it with Museums .. these landmarks are Living Museums
where you can stand in the same spot
that all the jazz greats did over 75 years...... thats a unbeliveable
experiance....
