Everyone,

We all have our views of things, and sometimes those views collide. I hope no
one has burned more than a few minutes reading all this stuff.

Thierry is my friend. I've known him a long time. If someone starts in on
him, I'm not going to sit back and watch. It's not my nature.

I do want you to know that shortly after Andy first posted, I sent him a
private email trying to engage him in some discussion to resolve this
situation. I simply asked "why are you starting this fire". As of this
writing, he has not responded to me, though he has posted elsewhere in the
interim.

I point this out for one reason and one reason only: it's easy for some folks
to look at Thierry and I and calls us names for sticking up for what we believe
in. But in the haste to point fingers and call who's right and who's wrong,
some of you have missed that Thierry apologized no less than three times for
his words that were stated in a private email that was subsequently posted
publicly by a third party. That does not eliminate the sting of what was
written, but at least Thierry had the good sense not to put it out there on a
public board.

Whether you want to believe it or not, this is the fact: one of Andy's forum
members took those private words and posted them to his forum. Andy then took
those words and posted them here. I think there's a lot of people who thing
that Thierry posted publicly first. HE DID NOT. Andy only worsened the
situation by posting on Mopo, rather than let it die a natural death as Bruce
earlier suggested.

With that, I'm putting this to rest, at least on my end. I don't want my
collecting passion to make me have to reach for the "Hostility Hotline". I am
truly hopeful that we can all just let this go.

The rest is on you, now.

Holiday
