Shocker Sean. I made a reference on MOPO recently about receiving my catalog
upon returning from Cinevent, which was true. I immediately received some
flack, some moronic comment that I was bitter or some such nonsense. I am
not bitter but I am extremely disappointed in and by the profound lack of
effort to make this auction worth attending. I support Cinevent and the
auction every year in person and it is a simple fact that the auction has
gotten progressively worse in the past few years. The recent Chicago auction
had 374 passes out of 566 lots. 66%. This speaks for itself. I could go on
more specifically why these auctions are on life support but those of you
who attend regularly already know.
But maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised this year. I hope so. I feel
for the consigners(if there are any); they are the real victims as their
material gets almost no exposure.
