I think we shoudl hold doors open for everyone.... serving our fellow friend and neighbor is a way to show respect, care and love,,, it may be just the perk to get that person to help someone else.. and then it gets a energy going... there are so many things we can do its endless.... I gave a man and his wife 4 cents at a store because they would need to break a bill.. and they couldnt believe it... I thought 4 cennts??? I was able to preactice Love.. the when my doctors helped me I said LOOK ill tell you this I may be low on funds but I can do something in return for others and I will,,, It may be giving something I doo have like a poster or something but I can do something.. like voluteer , give advice to kids.. or some kind of reciprocation../ It just makes sense

JF kennedy was so right when he said ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country!!!

Its so true.. If we all chip in it makes all life easier for all.......the elderly should be cared for and respected.. they are our heritage and our foundation... if they made mistakes we need to improve not condemn and ridicule we need to reddem our forefathers and unite all people for world peace and stamp out any kind of untruth done to woman, children, elderly nd even men.... also,, we can stop hunger, destroying the ecosystem, harming trees and water and nature and animaal.s... we can feed and hosue the hungry and homeless..
If we all just join together and do it...
all sickness can be washed away with helping the sick and prevention with education and teaching nutrition... its all fixable and each person basically wants a home.. some food , a family and love and should be able tohave that.. it makes sense.

I was going to say when I hold the door open, for anyone wo may be entering, I see if they say thank you. Most don't. However, I'm never surprised but always disappointed when there's no response at all. As if I weren't even there! Happens more than you'd think... Invariably I laugh and say, You're welcome! And guess what... Still no response! Thank can't just be LA... Glenn T.

    Me too.

Civility seems to have eroded everywhere. Many times I pick up
multiple packages from my post office box and I can count on less
than three fingers how often people coming in will hold the door.

I couldn't agree more with this

the reality is that when you have certain tv stations, radio
hosts and other leaders spilling vitriol on a daily basis it
permeates throughout. One major over-riding factor however is
this: people have come to believe that everything they think
is right IS while thinkng everything other people think about
IS NOT. It's an inability to look objectively ate things and
understand there is give and take, what's good for the goose
is what's good for the gander and regardless of whether you
agree with your opposites or not, you're supposed to treat
people with mutual respect as well as respect the beliefs of
        your opposites.

it isn't confined to America, but admittedly our nation is a
        hotspot for such behavior
