Helmut -- great story. When I was a kid growing up in Phoenix, AZ, we'd occasionally get a ghost TV signal from Tucson about 120 miles south. On one of their local channels (KGUN, I kid you not), they'd show Mexican horror movies on Friday nights at 10:30. I saw many of these and grew to love them. I especially liked the vampire films with German Robles and even have a copy of SWAMP OF THE LOST MONSTER on VHS. When Agrosanchez came out with his book on Mexican horror posters, I was in heaven! BTW, if anyone has a Mexican poster for SWAMP (Spanish title is El Pantano de las Animas) please let me know.

Personally, I couldn't care less for Mexican paper on US or European movies, but I've always been a HUGE fan of Mexican Wrestling and Mexican horror cinema.

I don't care if nobody else likes them, but I'll be happy to pay $10 for any vintage poster or mexican lobby set for 50s and 60s Santo, Blue Demon, The Aztec Mummy, or El Vampiro movies.

I'll even pay more for posters and lobby card sets drug related Mexican movies like OPIO LA DROGA MALDITA or MARIHUANA EL TABACO NEGRO DEL DIABLO.

There may never be a big market for these things, but one of my favorite posters is actually Mexican, and I might go as high as $20 to buy another one:

Seriously, if you have any vintage Mexican horror, exploitation or lucha libre posters or complete Mexican lobby sets, and you want to sell them at reasonable prices, you may want to let me know, I really like that stuff.

Cheers,

Helmut

So if you happen to like, say the TC Mexican card for THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, selling on eBay for $10, be warned... it easily could be a repro.
