Howdy y'all,
For those that missed all the views / discussion / opinions of the recent
slabbing topic, allow me to summarize:
whine, new!, mewl, old, hmmmm ... , maybe, never, *pout*, money, hobby, piss,
what are they thinking?, moan, it'll never work, it's time, change, let's see,
cry, *sob*, etc...
Lobbies are of little interest to me; I have 8-10 total in the flat files, and
none displayed, so I have minimal emotional investment in the topic.
Heritage and Grey Smith is making a considered move; this 'slabbing' is not the
product of a single skull session, late Thursday afternoon.
Slabbing a lobby card would be a 'game changer' in the movie paper hobby. If
the process were to 'take hold', similar to other hobbies, i.e., trading cards,
comics ... increasing interest and money would follow, and the accompanying
speculators, scalywags, and ne'er-do-wells (read 'investors') would smell the
$$$, and you can figure the rest.
I give 'props' to Heritage for their chutzpah. If there are positive results,
the ramifications of pioneering a new direction in the movie paper hobby would
further cement their brand as an 'hobby one stop shop'.
