I received 4 responses to my last posting. One great response was from a
collector like me. He is going through his stuff, and we already agreed
to one OS, and he is looking for another title. In fact, if he can find the
other title, he knows that his proces were acceptable. I told him i will
buy, buy, buy........... This means that he and I are reasonable and
realistic. Too often, the dealers contact me, but dont quote price, but tell
me zip code numbers.
(My Want Lists requests increase, as I see "new" old movies.)
Right now on ebay there is a TOMORROW IS FOREVER half sheet. Seller wants
175. Comical. (I paid 15.00 for my insert a couple of years ago on
ebay.) Also, there is a listing of THE LONG DARK HALL half for 90. (I paid
15, and 10 for the one sheet and insert, respectively over the past two years
on ebay.) Both are in ebay stores, THAT DONT MOVE!!!!
What would bruce or heritage Sunday or ebay stad auctions fetch for them
among dealers and collectors who are competing? Surely not those
numbers. I have pieces of both titles, and i know the value. Just because
you
want something, doesn't mean you should overpay. REASONABLE TALKS ONLY.
Another person wants more than 3 times the price of a diff style half
sheet than the one i just purchased on ebay a few days ago from a HUGE dealer.
I paid on ebay the exact price bruce sold it for 6 months ago. Yet, the
unrealistic priced one will sit in his ebay store!!!! His feedback is less
than 20, and he has about 80 items on ebay now. Ebay just collects and
collects and collects fees.
Poster collectors prefer fun dealings. Ebay is a good source. Here is a

what would a MOPO dealer have asked for? My snipe was considerably
higher.....
my last purchase through MOPO was an awesome title.......i paid 75.00. In
bruce's last auction, it went for about 90------ Heritage was about the
same. Isn't that what buying should be?
Poster collecting should be fun........ I do buy from heritage Signature
and Sunday night. I got Heritage's THE THIRD MAN insert delivered a few
days ago------better condition than described. Last summer, i purchased
from Heritage Signature BOTH stlyes of Dorian Gray that was offered. NO
ONE WAS GONNA OUTBID ME !!!!! I WANTED THEM!!!!! I OWNED THEM AS SOON AS MY
CATALOGUE ARRIVED---LOL. THE ONE SHEET HAS been FRAMED/DISPLAYED since
its arrival!!!! Then i bought another style from Heritage in the following
Signature. (I didn't get anything from Signature this time out....but in
the past 4 auctions in totality, i got about 10 pieces----nothing over a
couple hundred each. Part of the reason is that my Want List is shrinking.
Of course i saw other pieces....but...........i got overbid.) I do buy
from bruce, also........and sometimes have gotten into bidding wars. And i
buy from ebay!!!!
i have posters on ebay now. Dont you think i would negotiate fairly with
those who really want an item cheaper than i have them listed for now?
Surely, MOPO people could feel free to negotiate. I just reduced the prIce
to the Door Panel of SORRY, WRONG NUMBER,,,,,,,,,
