Just a quick clarification - Sean mixed up CGC's definitions of
vintage & original:

CGC provides professional third-party certification services for
collectible photographs in three classifications: VINTAGE, which
were printed from the original negative at or near the time that
the photograph was taken; ORIGINAL, which were printed from the
original negative; and CONTEMPORARY, which were derived by
photographic processes from an original image.

This page also outlines their grading scale:

With all the stills you are selling this week Bruce, one would
think you would care what the
difference is between original and vintage
(though maybe not CGC's definition).

I believe the answer to the question though is that Original
relates to a still that dates from the
time of the film's original release, while vintage means that
perhaps they believe the still was
struck later from the original negatives (like a 50s/60s still
created for the original 1931
Frankenstein), and of course contemporary would refer to an even
more modern striking of the image.

  More importantly, does anyone care?

CGC are grading stills on two levels. The first is that the
still is either Vintage, Original or
Comtemporary. The second level is on condition with four
categories. I just checked the website and
they don't define Vintage, Original or Contemporary. Does anyone
know what the difference is between
Vintage and Original?
