Thanks to the both of you and to everyone else who has chipped in to help.

Though I don't consider it fully resolved yet, I am now leaning toward it
likely being from '56, with the odd size being the one unusual factor.

I have seen what Todd says to be so in relation to large format poster with
Disney - three sheets and six sheets - I have also, more often, in fact, seen
them larger..... but I don't recall
  one sheets that weren't 27x41.

  But I could be wrong.

    Dave,

You have an original SONG OF THE SOUTH R56 One Sheet.

Yes, Disney did print posters in the 1950's on glossy stock and there are
many instances where Disney posters aren't exactly standard sizes and were off
by an inch or two.

    Best,
    Todd

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one: I just picked up
what is supposed to be a Song of the South R1956 1-sheet.

Almost everything about it is correct: the art , 56/77 NSS number (no "R"
in front of the number, though), Buena Vista logo, machine folded.

Two curious things about it: First, it is printed on glossy stock. Was
Disney ever known to print 1-sheets on glossy stock in the 50s? Second, it
measures 27x39 and doesn't appear to be trimmed.

Is it possible there was a repro issued of this poster in the 70s or 80s
and that's what I have? If so, I can't find anything that matches it online.

Anyway, if anyone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Dave
