Yes, but, but, but.... that ROCKY is SO I wannabe Saul Bass. Phil ----- Original Message ----- From: David Kusumoto To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2010 3:27 PM Subject: [MOPO] "On the Waterfront" and "Rocky" one-sheets, 2010 designs.
I vaguely recall a discussion about the outstanding graphics of the new August 2010 one-sheets associated with Alamo Drafthouse's "one-night-only" screenings of classic films - at the original venues where the films were shot. The story finally made it to the WSJ this week and the poster images which really impressed me were from "On the Waterfront" and "Rocky." I wish these had been the original USA issue posters back in 1954 and 1976. The pigeon "shadow" over-layed on Brando's image is particularly spooky. A gallery of these posters, which were created by Britain's Oliver (Olly) Moss, is visible at the following link: http://bit.ly/9Zk3Un Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [email protected] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
