God rest him, such a gentleman. I met him at a Chiller convention some years ago when I went up to him in a restaurant. Not polite, I know, but I just had to greet him and hadn't had a chance to see him before. Mr. McCarthy couldn't have been more gracious. I didn't bother him for an autograph but I told him how much I enjoyed his performance in, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," . . . one of my favorite movies, that every time I watched him in it I saw something new, etc. He thanked me and said, "I don't quite know how to get my mind around that."
I'll never forget the experience or him.
