Thanks, Tom. And Franc, you are right, his films weren't a hit in the USA but he was one of biggest stars in the UK for most of the 1950s & early 1960s.
Physical comedy can be sublimely hilarious when done well and crushingly awful when done badly. He did it pretty darn well! AND he could sing too!!!
