You know, besides getting the poster, it was a wonderful day as so many of my dealer friends knew that Louis and I had this ongoing thing about the "someday" when he would sell me his poster. He loved it too. He was a good friend and when he passed away suddenly, I had to pay whatever it took to get that particular Suez one sheet just because it had been his own personal copy. I think of him all the time. It is a title that doesn't come up often and it is a beauty. Many of the big dealers like Walter and Freeman did not bid against me and were so happy when it was finally mine. I so appreciated that sentiment. I don't have anything on my want list anymore, as most of it is so far out of my affordability range or I've lost interest. Every now and again something pops up and it's fun to bid on it with no pressure to obtain it. Plus seeing all my poster buddies is so much fun.....
