A problem is that this movie doesn't seem to exist! Here's what I could find
out (which is on the auction):
Whispering Tales, the circa 1930s black African American crime mystery
murder thriller ("Her kisses were death traps!") starring Laura Bowman,
Walter Mosley, and Slick Chester. Since we can find no reference to this
movie anywhere, it seems quite possible that it is actually a re-titling of
"Murder in Harlem", the 1935 Oscar Micheaux movie, as this was the only
movie that Laura Bowman and Slick Chester made together. Of course, some of
the early all-black cast movies are poorly documented, so it is quite
possible this is actually a movie called "Whispering Tales"!
Incidentally, Laura Bowman was in her 50s when this movie was likely made,
so she is *NOT *the sexy lady on the poster. Anyone here know anything? And
who in the world was Slick Chester?
