hi johni bought one of these NbyNW storyboards from the seller at the time (one
from the coastal road driving sequence).  i remember that the seller was also
selling storyboards from other Hitchcock and non-Hitchcock films (all graphite
on vellum) so is it possible your board is from another film?  my memory may be
faulty but i seem to remember that there was a board or two billed as being
from the contemporaneous The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).
i would think that these are preliminary storyboards rather than conceptual art
as many had arrows indicating camera moves. that said, they are not as
hyper-detailed as the final, published storyboards for NbyNW.

i have often wondered who else acquired these storyboards at the time and also
a prop newspaper from North By Northwest that sold on ebay (i think also around
9 years ago).  if anyone has any of these i'd be interested to
know.....cheersneil

I was hoping that there might be some record of
what was planned for the film. This scene obviously wasnt used in the film. The
auction stated that it had been part of the original concept idea but if there
is no actual record of this there is probably no way of knowing whether it was
from the film or not.

  question

I recall seeing a Cinema Exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum
about 20 years ago when I was living there

they had a display of
storyboards from the Rushmore sequence along with a film clip to play so you
could see how they matched it

not sure where this storyboard would fit
in. What characters would they be?

  Compliments of the

About 10 years I bid on about 10 or 12 storyboards from
North By Northwest. I missed out on all but one which was supposedly from a
scene that ended up on the cutting room floor.

There is nothing to confirm that it actually was from the film
although the rest of the items all looked authentic and there were
certainly
some recognizable scenes from the movie.

Does anyone have any ideas on whether it might be from North by
    Northwest.

John
