If you want a comprehensive clean sweep of your identity on the web,
keep in mind that it's labor intensive. But you should start with
Intelius.com where more data is displayed for public viewing BEFORE
anyone has to sign up for a background check subscription. Be aware

** You can't opt-out at Intelius.com in a simple way. Here's the
boilerplate on their site; the most pertinent is highlighted in bold:
"Public records are available from the official public records
custodian or repository to anyone who requests them. In order for
any database of public records to be useful, the databases must
contain all of the information in the public records offices. If you
have a compelling privacy or security issue, you may wish to contact
the official custodians of those public records that contain

You find yourself, copy that url, click on 'privacy' way at the
bottom in gray, then past the url into it. Put in your email and
then click approve to remove it in your email box. When you check
again, you are gone from their site. I was listed FIVE TIMES.

"There's a site called Spokeo.com that's a new online USA phone book
w/personal information: everything from pics you've posted on FB or
web, your approx credit score, home value, income, age, exact
directions to your house,etc. You can remove yourself by first
finding the URL of your page, then going to the Privacy button on
the bottom of their page to remove yourself." (This was on my FB
page)
I looked us up and almost sh*t my pants! Anyone who wants to pay a
few bucks to join this site (i.e. ex-cons, new up-and-coming cons,
child molesters, etc.) can get too much of your info. Not cool.
