I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Jerry Weist.
Jerry was a very nice guy, very knowledgeable about comics
(something I know little about), and developed an interest
in sci-fi and horror movie posters. MovieArt did some business
with Jerry and I remember his coming to Austin to visit a friend
who lived here and also visiting with me about film posters.
Jerry married Dana Hawkes, who was the head of Sothebys
collectibles division and a truly lovely person.
I would usually see Dana - and sometimes Jerry - in New York
on the occasions of Sothebys auctions. Later they moved to
the Boston area, I believe.
We are here today. Don't wait to tell someone that you love
and appreciate that you love and appreciate them. Do it
today.
