Nate is a very interesting person and runs an auction house geared towards the uber-wealthy Like Dave Lieberman, his prices can flummox many of us, but his customers are the kind of people who look for anonynimity, ease and personal service. Nate's people will get your item framed, deliver it to you by hand (for a fee of course) and hang it on your wall - all things that wealthy people appreciate and are happy to pay for. I don't think he sells as much as Profiles in History does every year, but his auctions which he runs monthly take in millions of dollars

it's much the same as the difference between Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom's where you can buy some of the same items for as much as double or triple in Nordstroms.

His main focus is autographed memorabilia and has been known to sell some of the most important documents in this area.
Movie posters, toys, comic art are all side-area collectibles to him.

Like Neil explained also, the negs are clearly oriented into a specific area and because I know and trust him, I'm inclined to believe his explanation of the turbo lister issue (which I've heard is a common problem when ebay upgrades the software), but I will agree the other negs may have some weight

Well, the feedback is poor, whether deserved or not you'd imagine it would affect things.

No, nothing particularly against a flip, just flummoxed by the logic.

He's only just outbid everyone else on ebay who wanted it, buying from a seller with 100% positive feedback and half decent pictures.

Though presumably this is hope springs eternal, and he has a realistic plan to make a profit on it further down the line.

"lousy" and "deplorable" feedback?
really?

i have no idea who this seller is, but his 9 negatives (in 12 months against 631 positives) come from 8 customers, 6 of who complained in the short period between May 31st and June 14th, probably explained by that powerlisting error. since June 14th 2010 only 2 more people have had reason to complain about this seller.

sure he's selling Gilda at a mark-up but is that so outrageous?

to quote another rita hayworth tag-line : you MOPOers know nothing about wickedness!

cheers
neil

Makes sense, he lists exactly the same flaws.

Doesn't automatically appear the best flip to me.
Asking slightly above the highest Heritage has achieved but on ebay and from someone with lousy feedback.

you are wrong on one count for certain and one count in part

I know Nate Sanders. He runs a well organized & high-ticket auction in Los Angeles

Obviously Nate is the buyer of the poster last week and now he is offering it for sale. That's what Nate does. I guarantee that he is not offering something he does not own, but he may not have received the poster yet and so is using the old pic

concerning his negatives file.. that isn't the nate I know and while I believe the "turbo lister mistake" he claims, the other negs are a concern

The guy lifted the photo from the other listing and is hoping to rip someone off. How are sellers like this even allowed on eBay? Other people get kicked off for minor infractions, but this guy's record is deplorable.
