Wednesday Ed Poole took David, Steve and myself away from our daily
toiling here at MovieArt and on a tutorial around the sponsors area in
at Learnaboutmovieposters.com and the Global Cinema Research area
of the site. Ed and Sue are passionate - there really is no other
word - about providing collectors, writers and researchers detailed
information about the publicity and marketing history of the film
business. We have a few posters listed on LAMP, and I knew
generally about the nature of the site, but this was the first time
that I really had taken some time to look at the incredible amount
of work that they have done on the site. It is astounding. And it
is invaluable.
I would urge all members of mopo to consider becoming sponsors for
LAMP. Sure, it's a few dollars, but often less than we would spend
on a poster. And the work that they do -- well, we are just glad
they came along because no one else has ever even attempted
anything like it --
at least not on the scale that they have.
For dealers, here are the tools which will help, in many cases, to
determine the originality of posters and the accuracy of claims to
originality.
