hello Mopo adults and kids.
I have thought about all the collectors over the years,,, and yes
some are on the
leel of Norman Bates quality.
I will tell you some... I would have people come in and ask for
certain film people..
One guy came in and looked and sounded liek Clint Eastwod... and said
IM lloking for Eastwod.. OKKK.. so i showed hime eastwood trying to
act nonchalant about it..
But this one day a Guy came in.,,, bald and looking tesy he said..to
my broher
he wanted telly savalas,,, and he had a sucker in his mouth,,,, well
my brotherlooked at me and said hey Tom hes looking for Telly
Svalas.... I say Ill be right back... wellI went in the back and
couldnt stop laughing I was cryingai laughed so hard.. pretty son my
brother came back and he cracked up.. so werer both in histerics and
then My ex said whast the matter.. ?I said would you go help this guy
in the store,,,,she had no idea what she was in forbut soon she
knew.. well then she saw whywe were on the floor laughing..
so your a collector IF you get obbsessed about condition, have to get
that one last peice that eludes YOU... you find yourself going ADD
and buying things not even related to the 1st quest.. and if you have
itemms that none even cares about yet you value it because it has
memories of something in your life,,
Just as pets fill the void ofchildless people.. Posters also fill a
emotional connect to a TIME we remember or woldlike to have been part
of..
basiclally collectables allow people to stimulate the mind.. study a
art form
andclaim a self worth and self esteem by knowing the elelments of
theMovies
a non collector will be happy with a Portal or tin sign reproduction
collecting can be a grea teducational experianceas you can learn
about all the side stors of the artists and actors..like Zazau Pitts
or Franlin Pangborn
then you can go to cinevents and meet others that know tos of
eclectic facts and have a community
of like minded people....comfort.
then you get old and muble about Zazu Pitts and the others and
theyfigureyou went off the deep end.
yep.. collecors also like the feel, touch and smell of collectables...
who doent remembera FRSH Gumby smell
or the powdery smell of TOPPS chewing gum,,, when stale?
how about PLaydoh???? anyone never ate some?? or Elmers white glue??
heck Im having a bowl right now with myBox of pulp paper cereal.
But then,,, I missed the whole collector thing as IM a normal
Balanced person
schucks... but I sure admire tight assed collectors that break into
sweats when they see a collectable
its a Rush..
