Is A Puzzlement: ideas, input, clever comments, please. I have the following Exorcist one sheet in the upcoming Heritage auction:
http://movieposters.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=7040&lotNo=83738&lotIdNo=43005 As noted in the description the poster is printed on flat stock instead of glossy, the title is in pink instead of white, but most oddly, there are instruction to display the poster only at the film's screening venue. The cataloger at Heritage thinks this is an advance. I had never put this poster in my inventory because I could not quite figure out what it was. I felt rather strongly that it was created for a non theatrical showing where admission was charged. When I ran a film society in college , we were often offered promotional material by the distributors, but it was usually cheap off-prints of the original campaign. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
